日本人にも人気の観光地であるフィリピン・セブ島で、日本人が巻き込まれる事件が起きたようだ。
韓国のニュースサイト『ukopia』の報道によると、セブ島へ語学研修に来た日本人女性2人を韓国人男性2人がモーテルに連れて行き、集団強姦した疑いで逮捕されたという。
韓国人の男は犯行後、いくらかのお金をモーテルへ置き逃げたようだが、その後警察により捕まった。日本人女性は病院で治療を受け、現在は無事だそうだ。
なお、犯人は今後現地の刑務所に収監される予定だが、現地日本僑民会（日本人コミュニティ）会長の岡田明氏は「今回の事件を両国の不幸な過去と関連付けたくない。誰でも、外国にいる時は気をつけなければならない」と驚きの発言をした。
なぜこの事件について日本僑民会長の口から日韓の歴史が出てくるのかは不明だが、それより先に日本人コミュニティの長として被害が起きないように努める内容の発言をして欲しいと思う人が多かったのではないだろうか……。
